Description:	The eight day movement is carried by two patinated bronze sphinxes standing on black and white marble bases and is surmounted by two swans and a vase of bullrushes. The breakfront black marble base is decorated with an ormolu foliate frieze flanked by two mask head medallions. The silk suspended sunburst pendulum swings below a fine ormolu apron depicting two sphinxes. The white enamel dial has Roman hour chapters and well chased gilt hands and is signed "V.
