Description:

Mahogany fret mirror with giltwood 'ho-ho' bird in the cresting. Also having gilt detail to the apron and slip. Good original state having all its original fretted earpieces but with some re-touching to the gilding. Retaining period mirror glass with distressed silvering. Sold but we currently have in stock two other mirrors of a similar type. One is a slightly larger example but with a pierced gilt shell in the cresting while the other is in walnut (see photo), also with a pierced shell cresting but a little smaller and simpler fretted outline. Both of these have recently replaced clear mirror plates.
