The solid mahogany rectangular top, crossbanded in rosewood with boxwood and ebony stringing, has a leaf to each end, each raised on two wooden knuckle hinges. The frieze has a drawer and a false drawer to the front and back, all crossbanded in tulipwood with boxwood and ebony stringing and fitted with locks and key. The whole is raised on standard ends joined by a well-turned central stretcher, with four swept legs, which are reeded and have an acanthus decoration to the top, terminating in original brass cap castors. The whole, being of a pleasing honey colour, retains a patination. |
