Beautifully veneered forte piano music box in a burr walnut case. The lid with quartered veneering and bordered with boxwood and ebony lines. Similar decoration is on the front and sides of the case.
The quality of the movement is outstanding. Heller was known for his ability to make good quality music boxes that produced fine sounds. The two-per-turn cylinder is 15 inches (38cm) long X 3.5 inches (8.5cm). Under the title `EXPRESSION EXTRA' the twelve airs are listed, in German, on the original tune sheet. The music is enhanced by the addition of two zithers and forte-piano combs. The serial number is `6670'. This fine quality instrument has been lovingly restored to its original condition. |
