RETURNING HOME BAXTER MORGAN Exhibited 1905 – 1932 Signed Oil on board 11 ½ x 20 inches Framed size 20 ¾ x 28 ¾ inches Baxter Morgan was the son of the still life and historical painter Alfred Morgan who exhibited his work from 1880 – 1917. Baxter became a painter and received early instruction from his father. He exhibited at Walker Art Gallery, the Royal Institute of Oil Painters and the Liverpool Society. Baxter developed a style that was influenced by the likes of Edward Scott and the Sussex School of Rural Landscape Painters.
